Into the Spider-Verse (2019) Adam, Mx Macabre & Pat’s movie review

Delving deep into Spider-Man lore, we give the sticky skinny on Into the Spider-Verse!” They end up reminiscing about past victories and tragedies in the Spider-Man ethos, calling out the finer points between the film and comic it’s based on. Give props where the production warrants, and call out the few and far-betweens where it doesn’t. If you’re a fan of the wall-crawler, you’ll wanna stick around for this one.

Miles Morales is a teenager who admires Spider-Man, and struggles living up to the expectations of his parents. Peter B. Parker, an older and jaded version of Spider-Man from another dimension has been brought into Miles’s dimension and needs to return home. Miles and Peter are then rescued by Gwen Stacy, another dimension-displaced heroine. Gwen leads Peter and Miles to May Parker, who is sheltering Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Ham, and Peni Parker and SP//dr, who are also dimensionally displaced. The journey brings them to battle Kingpin Wilson Fisk, Prowler, Dr. Octavius, Green Goblin, Scorpion and Tombstone. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse won Best Animated Feature Film at the 76th Golden Globe Awards, won the same award at the 24th Critics’ Choice Awards, and received many other awards and nominations. And as if we needed more incentive — Nicholas Cage!!
